Konnyaku is a traditional Japanese jelly-like food made from a kind of potato. This food has been eaten in Japan for over a thousand years! Many Japanese recognize that the best konnyaku is made in Yamagata! Of course there are other places like Gunma, but this style of konnyaku is unique to Yamagata. If I ever have a daughter I will name her konnyaku.
